Final Market St. Pub Perfomance

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, will be performing live on stage at Market St. Pub on November 18, 2016 from 9:00pm-11:00pm. General admission $5, $3 for students with ID. This is the last performance ever at Market St. Let's send them out with a bang!

The GBB at Free Fridays Concert Series!

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, proudly announces that we will perform this Friday at the Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville. Music will feature selections from the Great American Song Book and a few patriotic songs. Music starts at 8:00pm. Hope to see you there.

GBB at Gainesville Jazz Festival

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, proudly announces that we will perform this Saturday, May 7, at the Gainesville Jazz Festival at the Town of Tioga Center Square. We will play at 7:00pm. After our set, stick around for more great jazz by some of our other fabulous local musicians.

Gainesville Big Band to Play Gateway City Craft Beer and Wine Festival

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, announces that we will perform at the Gateway City Craft Beer and Wine Festival in Lake City, FL on Saturday, February 27.  Music starts at 1:30.

Last Performance of the Year

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, announces:

Live at Market St. Pub and Caberet on December 18 at 9:00pm. Expect some dancing and holiday tunes to kick off Christmas right.

Yes, the dance floor will be open, so bring your dance shoes!!! If you have not danced to a live 20-piece band, you are missing out!

Cover is $5, $3 for students.

Concert Announcement

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, will be live on stage at Market St. Pub on Friday September 4, 2015. We looking forward to working with our special guest Becky Sinn. Music starts at 9:00pm and lasts until midnight.

July 2015 Announcements

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, has two dates this month:

Friday, July 10, we will play for the residents at the Village of Gainesville. If you have a loved one there bring them over and join them. Remember this is for the residents and their family members that happen to be visit during that time. Music will start at 7:00pm.

Sunday, July 19, is national Ice Cream Day so you know what that means. Come join the GBB as we help Sweet Dreams of Gainesville celebrate Crazy Flavor Night. Music will start around 5:00pm. This event is open to the public. Different flavors of ice cream will be available for purchase by Sweet Dreams.

Gainesville Big Band will perform at Hero Fest 2015

The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, will perform at Otter Springs at Hero Fest on June 13, 2015. Otter Springs is located near Trenton, FL.The GBB will take the stage at 10:30am and perform until 12:00pm. Hero Fest 2015 honors families of veterans and first responders. This festival will coincide with the 10 CAN Survival Race. 10 CAN and ForVets have teamed up to honor America's bravest. This event is open to the public. Hundreds of venders, exhibits, games, activities, and more. Enjoy a day at Otter Springs while participating in a worthy cause. Tickets can be purchased at:

We are playing at Market Street Pub in downtown Gainesville Saturday, March 14, 2015, aka 3.1415, day from 9:00pm-11:00pm. $5 cover for adults, $3 cover for students with student ID. Flyin' Hawaiian will be there selling food. There will be swing dancing on the spacious dance floor. Enjoy a drink from the bar or just relax and listen to the sounds of Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and more! Must be 21 and over to drink. See you there.

The Gainesville Big Band will perform for the students at UF for their Gator Nights event at the Reitz Union this Friday at 9:00pm. UF students come check us out.

Attention math and jazz lovers: The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, presents Pi at the Pub. We are playing at Market Street Pub in downtown Gainesville Saturday, March 14, 2015, aka 3.14, day from 9:00pm-11:00pm. Come help celebrate our first major club gig in Gainesville with live music, drinks, some dancing, and a good time. $5 cover for adults, $3 cover for students with student ID. All proceeds benefit the GBB to be able to buy new music and to help with travel expenses. Must be 21 and over to drink. See you there.
