The Gainesville Big Band, under the direction of Marco Thomas, will perform at Otter Springs at Hero Fest on June 13, 2015. Otter Springs is located near Trenton, FL.The GBB will take the stage at 10:30am and perform until 12:00pm. Hero Fest 2015 honors families of veterans and first responders. This festival will coincide with the 10 CAN Survival Race. 10 CAN and ForVets have teamed up to honor America's bravest. This event is open to the public. The Gainesville Big Band began as the Gainesville Community Jazz Band. Since 2007, the band has brought big band jazz to Gainesville and the surrounding areas. The GBB is a 18 piece jazz band that plays a wide range of big band styles such as traditional swing, dance, latin, and contemporary jazz. The musicians have a deep passion for jazz and a commitment to presenting quality performances to all audiences in Gainesville or wherever the GBB may travel.
