The Gainesville Big Band began as the Gainesville Community Jazz Band. Since 2007, the band has brought big band jazz to Gainesville and the surrounding areas. The GBB is a 18 piece jazz band that plays a wide range of big band styles such as traditional swing, dance, latin, and contemporary jazz. The musicians have a deep passion for jazz and a commitment to presenting quality performances to all audiences in Gainesville or wherever the GBB may travel.

Sabrina Powell
Sabrina plays baritone sax in the band. She also plays piano. Sabrina has been playing for 25 years. By day, Sabrina works in science education at the University of Florida. Her favorite musical artist is New Orleans based piano player Dr. John.
Anthony Clark
Anthony plays guitar. He's been playing for 30 years. Anthony is also the business editior for the Gainesville sun. His favorite musical artist is Little Feat. FYI, Anthony also plays in a classic soul band, Abe and the House Rockers, which had Duane and Gregg Allman in another incarnation 45 years ago when they were based in Daytona Beach. He likes to tell people that he replaced the Allman Brothers.

Pattie Glenn
Female vocalist for the band. She sings big band and classic jazz and has been doing so since 1992. She is the President/MGRM/CEO/B of Green$mart Companies which specializes in green education, certification & training, green marketing, sales, and sustainable development. She has an ecclectiv respect for many types of music from classic jazz, Broadway, classic rock, country and contemporary Christian music. Pattie also enjoys cooking traveling, and any connection with nature. She is a rockhound and likes to saltwater fish and basically loves to be near water.
